Ferrari Prototype Caught on a Public Road

This thing looks mind-blowing, scary price tag I am sure! Yesterday a rather rough-looking LaFerrari prototype was caught testing at the Fiorano racetrack, which was cool in its own right. Today, however, we have a real treat for you in the form of a LaFerrari production prototype that Hendrick from brainphArt caught driving on the open road in Maranello. This marks the first time that a true production prototype of the newest Ferrari has been caught on film.

According to the report from Hendrick, he had an interesting talk with a Ferrari quality control employee just outside of the the Fiorano test track. According to this employee, Ferrari is hard at work on the final version of the LaFerrari, and the model at Museo Ferrari is a rushed-to-production rough draft and not a final production model.

Porsche 918 Spyder Caught on Film in Germany

This things can certainly move and it is also gorgeous looking! A few days ago, a series of six Porsche 918 Spyder units were caught on the streets of Monaco and today we get to see the supercar taking laps at Nurburgring. The prototype caught testing today wears a matte-black paint job and, as usual, the exhaust note of the hybrid V-8 is amazing.

As a reminder, the 918 Spyder is powered by a hybrid powertrain that combines a 4.6-liter V-8 engine with two electric motors for a total output of 875 horsepower. The supercar can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and up to a top speed of 211 mph.

500 HP Hybrid in the Works – Lancer Evolution XI

Hot looking car that will tear up the road, love it! We have heard all kinds of crazy rumors about the next-gen Lancer Evo here recently and now we have one more to add to the pile. A report from AutoCar points to a near certainty that the new Evo XI will bear a 500-horsepower hybrid powerplant and aim directly against models like Nissan GT-R.

Mitsubishi is set to unveil the next generation for the standard Mitsubishi Lancer sometime next year and, for the first time ever, it will feature a hybrid variant. According to AutoCar’s report, the same treatment will also be applied to the Evo version. The model is said to borrow racing technology from the MiEV Evolution II Pikes Peak, which will guarantee stunning performance.

Sony Might Bring Gran Turismo to the Big Screen

This game franchise is just too much fun so this would be amazing! As if we haven’t had enough car racing movies coming out in the next few months, we were greeted with new reports indicating that Sony is looking into the possibility of bringing the world of Gran Turismo into cinemas.

According to The Wrap, Sony is determined to jump start its own movie racing franchise similar to Dreamworks, Universal, and Legendary. While the notion of a Gran Turismo movie is just sitting in the pipeline for now, don’t be surprised if it gains some momentum in the near future.

Another video game racing franchise, “Need for Speed”, is already in the middle of production of its first-ever movie adaption of the long running video game franchise.
