2015 Porsche Macan Ready to Roll

Very cool looking car and with a base price this low I expect to see many on the road! Now that the Macan has made its official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Porsche has launched a Macan configurator filled with features and pricing information. The 2015 Porsche Macan starts at $49,900, but the price more than doubles when maxed out with some incredible, and incredibly expensive, optional features.

Upgrading to the Turbo trim level starts at $72,300. For the fun of it, we checked every option box, including a $3,120 gold paint exterior, a $940 carbon fiber interior package, and a $4,290 Burmester high-end surround sound system. Other unique options include a $1,670 panoramic sunroof, a $1,385 air suspension, a $1,290 Sport Chrono package, and a $365 heated dark walnut sport steering wheel. All in all, the top 2015 Porsche Macan reached a price of over $108,000.

Check out the Macan configurator for more information on pricing and features. The tool also allows customers to search available inventory and review specs.

We saw the Macan debut at the Los Angeles show recently, and from what we have seen, we are big fans. Smaller than the Cayenne SUV, the Macan strikes the right balance of comfort and utility for luxury buyers. It is powered by 3.0-liter V6 engines. The S model has 340 horsepower while the Turbo model pumps out 400 horsepower and can travel to 60 mph in an incredible 4.4 seconds.

Charger and Challenger Celebrate 100th Aniniversary

Two of the most awesome cars ever made! You’ve likely never heard the names John and Horace Dodge, nor do you really care. But after producing parts for Oldsmobile and Ford at the turn of the 20th century, the two finally brought out their own model, finally having enough of stuffing Henry Ford’s coffer for him. Thus, in 1914, the Dodge Brothers Company was born, and it would later evolve into just “Dodge” as part of the Chrysler company.

Now, 100 years later, Dodge is celebrating its 100th birthday with special edition versions of the 2014 Dodge Charger and Challenger muscle car. The 100th Anniversary Edition Charger and Challenger come in “High Octane” Red Pearl paint, have all-new 20-inch wheels designs, come with the excess of commemorative badging you’d expect from Chrysler, and come with a unique key fob and book chronicling the history of the Dodge brand.

Of course, the special edition cars are available in other colors–Pitch Black, Bright White, Billet Silver, Granite Crystal, Ivory Tri-coat, Phantom Black, and Header Orange. But why wouldn’t you get a color called “High Octane” when provided the opportunity? Seriously.

Inside, they’re available with Molten Red or Foundry Black Nappa leather with custom cloud overprint throughout much of the interior. The cars also feature a flat-bottom steering wheel with diecast paddle shifters; of course, a six-speed manual transmission is also available in the Challenger.

Both the 2014 Dodge Charger and Challenger 100th Anniversary Editions are based on the SXT Plus and R/T Plus trim levels, meaning they’re available with either a 300-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 or 375-horsepower, 5.7-liter Hemi V-8. Both are incredibly well-equipped and come in at a $2,200 premium over their respective “Plus”-level variants, which means $34,490, including $995 for destination and handling, for the cheapest special edition Charger and $31,490 for a Challenger. Look for them to show up at dealerships in the first quarter of 2014.

Chevy Sonic Set for Unveiling in LA

These cars are looking good and they might help Chevy sales in the near future! long with debuting a new Colorado pickup, Chevrolet will introduce two variants of the Sonic small car at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

For the first time, the Chevrolet Sonic RS will be available as a sedan version. It will be priced around $500 lower than the hatchback, which retails for $21,150. Under the hood is a 1.4-liter inline-four cylinder engine that is used on the base Sonic. Although the car only produces 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque, consumers will notice a difference in the ride due to a stiffer suspension, rear disc brakes, and other modifications.

Additionally, the Chevrolet Sonic Dusk, which originally debuted at a Specialty Equipment Market Association event, will show again in Los Angeles. Unique to this model (pictured above) is a rear spoiler as well as 18-inch wheels, leather-trimmed seats with suede accents, and contrast stitching.

A number of automakers are offering sporty subcompact cars to appeal to young buyers. From the Volkswagen Beetle R-Line to the Honda CR-Z to the Mini Cooper John Cooper Works line, small cars are increasingly performance-oriented. Chevrolet’s biggest competition, however, is likely the powerful Ford Fiesta ST.

Pricing for the new models will be announced closer to the launch date. Both models are set to go on sale next fall.

2014 Pricing in for the Nissan Fronteir and Xterra

These are two of my favorite models! Nissan has released pricing for the 2014 Frontier and Xterra, both of which are on sale nationwide. Both vehicles include updates for the new model year, including new packages, updated exterior features, and technology to offer good performance and utility.

The 2014 Nissan Frontier offers an updated SV VTP package that now includes heated front seats, new wheel designs on both the 16-inch and 18-inch options, and a manual sliding rear window is now standard on all Crew Cab models, except for the base S model. New standard features also include Bluetooth, manual air conditioning, cruise control, and steering wheel controls. A Bluetooth microphone and upgraded audio system are also standard on all S models, excluding the King Cab S with the manual transmission.

Heated cloth seats are now standard on PRO-4X models, while heated leather seats are available. NissanConnect has been updated for all models, and the audio system in the X model has been upgraded as well.

Nissan offers the Frontier in two body styles, the King Cab and Crew Cab, both of which are available with either a 4X2 or 4X4 drivetrain. Five models are available for each body style, including the S, SV, PRO-4X, Desert Runner, and SL. Pricing starts at $17,990 and ranges up to $34,170, before the $860 destination charge.
